The Chance Theater has announced that it has postponed the opening of Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily We Roll Along by one week. Instead of previewing January 29 and opening January 30, the new performance dates are Thursday, February 4 - Sunday, March 7. The February 4 show is a preview performance. Opening night/press night is now February 5.

This time-defying, Tony-nominated classic offers an exuberant behind-the-scenes journey through the triumphs and failures of three friends. Most famously revered for its 1994 off-Broadway revival and West End production, Merrily We Roll Along spans the years 1976-1957 as it progresses backward in time while examining the life of Franklin Shepard, a one-time Broadway composer, and his friends Mary and Charley. The show captures the milestones of Frank, Mary, and Charley's lives and leads to the beginning of their shining careers when any dream was possible.
