The garage door of an actual private home becomes a curtain, rising on Meredith, a single woman who has filled her garage with supplies for any emergency. It's gotten a little out of hand, which is why she's hired Alex from "Ready, Set, Go" to help her get organized. But neither the supplies nor the prepping expert can prepare her for the personal disasters that her younger sister brings home, on a day when the city seems set to go up in flames. In Case of Emergency, a brand new site-specific theatrical experience presented by Chalk Repertory Theatre, opening June 3 for four weeks, taking place in a garage at an actual private home in a different neighborhood each weekend; June 3-5, Montrose; June 10-12, Atwater Village; and June 24-26 and July 1-3, Pasadena. Written by Chalk Rep founding member Ruth McKee and directed by Deena Selenow in the LA-based company's signature style.

??Chalk Repertory Theatre, founded in 2008, is dedicated to producing classical and contemporary plays in unconventional spaces. Working with a diverse group of artists, Chalk Rep creates work that is designed to reach non-traditional audiences, stimulate community discussion and aim to transform the ideas that non-theatregoers have about what theatre can be - to create work that is intimate, relevant, and accessible to all. In Case of Emergency stars Amy Ellenberger (founding member of Chalk Rep and has performed with various theatre companies on the east and west coasts) as Meredith, Emma Zakes Green (multi-disciplinary artist and performer and founder of The Outpost) as Emma, and Daniel Rubiano (Masters of Sex, The Crazy Ones) as Alex.

Ruth McKee (playwright) has written other plays for the company including Stray, Full Disclosure, Hell Money, Skins and Bones in Gallery Secrets and Evolution in FLASH Fest 2012. Her plays have been produced and developed by Abingdon Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alliance Theatre, Black Dahlia Theatre, Center Theatre Group, Cherry Lane Theatre (Mentor Project), Ensemble Studio Theatre, HB Playwrights Foundation, The Road Theatre, Six Figures Theatre Company, SPFNYC and Working Class Theatre, among others.

Deena Selenow (director) creates joyful disasters that challenge perception and the myth that anything can be defined. She has directed theater, opera, puppetry and site-specific performances in Los Angeles at REDCAT, 8th+Hope (Chalk Rep Flash Festival), Highways Performance Space, The Alexandria Hotel (Company of Angels), Machine Project, CalArts, and at New York venues such as New York Theatre Workshop's Suspects Studio, Dixon Place, The Workshop Theater, Clemente Soto Velez Center, Flamboyan Theater, NYU and various chashama locations in Harlem, Midtown and Lower Manhattan. She was a recipient of the 2006 Baryshnikov Art Center Multi-Disciplinary Artist Fellowship, the 2009/2010 New York Theatre Workshop Emerging Artist of Color Directing Fellowship, and was a participant in the 2013 Walt Disney Imagineering / CalArts Educational Initiative. Deena is currently a participant in the SPARK Leadership Program, funded by American Express, The Joyce Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by Theatre Communications Group.

Amy also works with underserved youth as a teaching artist through The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company and Art in the Park. She has a B.F.A from Otterbein College and an M.F.A. from UC San Diego.

Emma Zakes Green (Emma) is a multi-disciplinary artist and performer currently based in Los Angeles.
