42ND STREET Tour Cast Members Set for Benefit Cabaret in Los Angeles
The music of songwriter NYC based composer Noel Katz, "Things We Do For Love" a comedic take on love in the modern age will be presented at The Gardenia Restaurant and Lounge (7066 Santa Monica Blvd, LA, CA, 90038) on Monday, June 13 at 7pm and 9pm featuring cast members from the current national tour of "42nd Street with proceeds benefiting Friends of Runyon Canyon, a 501(c)(3). www.friendsofrunyoncanyon.org
The show is directed by Justin Boccitto (Group Theatre Too) and features the talents of Steven Bidwell, Britte Steele, Tommy Joscelyn, Kaitlin Lawrence, Brady Miller and Stephanie Brooks, all currently performing at the Pantages Theatre in LA, with Noel himself at the piano for the 7pm show and Alex Navarro playing for the 9pm show.
Noel Katz is known for "Such Good Friends" which won five awards including Talkin' Broadway's citation as the season's best musical at the fourth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, as well as "Our Wedding, the Musical" a musical he composed for his own wedding to casting director Joy Dewing in 2003 (coincidentally Joy cast the current tour of 42nd Street). "Our Wedding, the Musical" was featured in the New York Times and was performed by the bride and groom, the wedding party, and the entire audience!
Mr. Katz is also a theatrical improvisation specialist, having taught at Artistic New Directions Summer Improv Retreat, the People's Improv Theatre, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Circle in the Square and the National Dance Institute, and has composed a variety of improv based- revues for the New York branch of Second City.
