The 50th anniversary production of The Wiz will take the stage at the Adrienne Arsht Center from October 7 to 12, 2025. This South Florida premiere features talented local artists including Amitria Fanae’ as Addaperle, Kameren Whigham, and Sai Anthony. A vibrant reimagining of the classic story from L. Frank Baum, this Tony Award-winning musical showcases an all-Black cast and an eclectic score blending soul, gospel, and funk. The production promises to deliver a unique theatrical experience, highlighting the journey of Dorothy as she navigates a fantastical world.

August 14, 2025 The Adrienne Arsht Center will open its 2025–26 Broadway in Miami series with the South Florida premiere of THE WIZ, running October 7–12. The 50th anniversary revival will star Dana Cimone, Alan Mingo Jr., and Miami native Amitria Fanae’ in a high-energy, all-Black reimagining of The Wizard of Oz.About the Theatre
