Wreckio Ensemble's new play Rooftops, sports a dystopian vision of the future, but has come up with a decided utopian power source--some of the theatrical lights are plugged in to...a bicycle. Karly Maurer, a co-Artistic Director of Wreckio Ensemble and the play's author remarked, 'we committed to an 80% green production. Post Campus of Long Island University Arts Management Program presents Marie Jones' Tony-nominated and Olivier Award-winning Irish comedy Stones in His Pockets. The performances will be held at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts' Hillwood Recital Hall on Saturday, March 14 at 8 pm, Sunday, March 15 at 7 pm and Tuesday, March 17 at 8 pm. The February 17 event begins at 6pm with cocktails and dinner onstage at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House followed by an 8pm performance of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale at the BAM Harvey Theater, directed by Sam Mendes and featuring a star-studded, transatlantic cast including Simon Russell Beale, Sin?ad Cusack, Richard Easton, Rebecca Hall, Josh Hamilton, and Ethan Hawke. The evening concludes with a post-performance dessert reception with the cast onstage at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House. DOG RUN REP presents WINTER THEATRE AT SOUTH STREET SEAPORT featuring Dog Run Rep, Abraxas Stage Company, Studio 42, and Unknown Productions. Celebrating its 3rd season, Dog Run Rep?s mission is to enhance cultural programming in Lower Manhattan. As part of its Seaport Semester program, General Growth Properties, the owners of the South Street Seaport, is teaming up with the collaboration by providing the @Seaport! venue at 210 Front Street for Winter Theatre at South Street Seaport. The line up includes: *DOG RUN REP presents Moliere?s Tartuffe, adapted and directed by Jeff Cohen. Tartuffe, set in 1930?s New York, begins performances on Friday, March 6th and runs through Sunday, March 29. *ABRAXAS STAGE COMPANY?s Crazy Head Space, a new musical, begins performances on Thursday March 12th and runs through Sunday April 5. *STUDIO 42?s New Play Reading Series will be presented on Monday evenings, February 16th through March 30th. *UNKNOWN PRODUCTION?s New Play Reading Series featuring work by Emily Conbere, Crystal Skillman, Maggie Smith, and Jeff Cohen will be presented on Sunday afternoons, March 15th through April 5th.

Rosie's Broadway Kids officially celebrated its new home on Monday January 26th as the Maravel Arts Center had a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the re-modeled facility to the press. Located in the heart of the Broadway community, on 45th Street, Rosie O'Donnell's 'Rosie's For All Kids Foundation will now have two dance studios, a music studio, library, dressing rooms and much more in its new location. Rosie's Kids provided the entertainment at the event, which drew such starry guest as Chita Rivera, Linda Dano and Broadway couple Orfeh and Andy Karl. One of many highlights was the 'Kids' performing Arthur Schwartz's classic tune 'Rhode Island Is Famous for You'-but they changed the words to 'Long Island' for Rosie, which the crowd just loved. The Maravel Arts Center is named for O'Donnell's teacher, Pat Maravel, who she said was an 'inspirational force' in her formative years.

THE FOREIGNER is set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia; 'Froggy' LeSeuer, a British demolition expert, has brought along his pathologically shy friend, Charlie. Before departing, 'Froggy' tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone, the fun really begins as Charlie overhears more than he should. Charlie's little white lie fuels the nonstop hilarity of this play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the 'bad guys.'
