Special Performance of FARRAH Announces for Long Beach, NY Starring Jen Danby, Directed By Austin Pendleton

This American Blonde Actress and Mississippi Mud Productions announce a special Long Beach, Long Island, performance of FARRAH, all about '70s superstar Farrah Fawcett, on Sunday, March 11th, at 3:00.

It is written by and stars Jen Danby, of CALIFORNIA GIRL: BEING Michelle Pfeiffer, and SHARON TATE IN HEAVEN.

FARRAH is set in December 1979 in Andy Warhol's Factory in New York City after Warhol chose mega star Farrah Fawcett to be his model for a 20/20 TV special on him and his celebrity icon artwork. She landed in New York for the session with her new romantic partner, Ryan O'Neal, just after splitting from her husband "The Six Million Dollar Man" Lee Majors, and in the rocky wake of leaving the television show that catapulted her to stardom, the 1976 TV hit CHARLIE'S ANGELS. In it she played Private Investigator Jill Monroe for one smash season, doing things like high speed chases on skateboards and catching bad guys on screen. A Texas-born art major at the University of Texas at Austin when Hollywood reached out to her and she took a chance, Farrah Fawcett was America's number one star. Her hair changed America, and her famous red bathing suit poster was the biggest selling poster in the world. The setting of this play is based on a true one of Andy Warhol asking Farrah questions as he takes Polaroids of her for the ABC TV 20/20 special as he prepares to paint two silk screen portraits of Farrah he will give to her and Ryan. Sweet, smart, loving, fun, and bold 70s "It" girl Farrah talks in this "secret" conversation about her life from her childhood in Texas to this juncture in time at the pinnacle of television fame and with aspirations for movie stardom and a new true soulmate love in her life when everything was golden for this icon. With a free spirit, Farrah, as imagined by Jen Danby, shares the adventures her life has taken her with hope for the Future. Directed by Austin Pendleton.

Alana Stewart, Farrah's best friend, author of "My Journey With Farrah," and President and CEO of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation (whose mission, in honoring Farrah Fawcett's own fight with cancer, is to provide funding for alternative methods of cancer research, clinical trials, prevention, and awareness with an emphasis on anal and pediatric cancers) said, after seeing a private performance of "Farrah" in Los Angeles at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, "I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Jen Danby really captures the essence of Farrah." This is a play about Farrah's tremendous life force.

There will be a post-show talkback with Jen Danby and Austin Pendleton.

Show run time is 75 minutes.
