Photo Flash: Bay Street's 'Typhoon Relief for the Philippines' Benefit Concert

Benefits by Bay Street presented TYPHOON RELIEF FOR THE PHILIPPINES night of bands on Sunday, November 24. The lineup of bands included LOLA, THE VANDETTAS, NANCY ATLAS, INDA EATON, HOODOO LOUNGERS, Gene Casey, RICK DAVIES, ESCOLA de SAMBA BOOM and JOE DELIA and the THIEVES. The night of fundraising included a silent auction and was co-hosted by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman and Bonnie Grice for WPPB. All ticket proceeds will be distributed to the Red Cross to aid in helping the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

A special thank you goes out to all the bands and to Crossroads Music for helping with the sound gear required for the evening's entertainment. Auction items were provided by The American Hotel, Angel Tips Salon, Canal Café, Coast Grill, Dr. Robert Moraru, Elie Tahari, Emporium Hardware, Fishers, Fresh, Fort Pond Native Plants, Harbor Bistro, JanGeorge, Lamplighter Wines and Liquors, Lifestyle Boutique, Michael Kors, North Sea Tavern, Southampton Publick House, Pure Salon, Sag Harbor Liquors, Sag Harbor Community Rowing, Sag Harbor Variety Store, Topping Rose House and Xavier Salon. Food was provided by Cromer's Country Market, Bagel Buoy, Conca D'Oro, Espresso's, and Sen. In addition, Andy Sabin from Sabin Metals offered a matching grant of $5,000 and Billy Mack from First Coastal offered a similar grant for $2,000.

"It was great to see everyone pulling together to make the event happen," says Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director of Bay Street Theatre. "While the final tally must be done, we know we raised over $13,000 that will go toward helping the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. We're glad we could help."

Bay Street Theatre is a year-round, not-for-profit professional theater and community cultural center which endeavors to innovate, educate, and entertain a diverse community through the practice of the performing arts. We serve as a social and cultural gathering place, an educational resource, and a home for a community of artists.
