Dan Domenech Directs a Revised Version of HEATHERS: The Musical, 8/11-13 ImageLong Island, New York--The stage is set for the Stage to Screen Acting Academy's summer alumni production of the Off-Broadway cult hit "Heathers: The Musical," which will play Five Towns College in Dix Hills, N.Y. (3305 N Service Road, Dix Hills, NY 11746) from August 11 to 13.

Broadway star and "Heathers" original cast member Dan Domenech has been tapped to direct this new beta testing of the 2014 Off-Broadway phenomenon. In addition to "Heathers," Domenech was also seen in the pre-Broadway runs of "Sister Act the Musical" and "Wonderland." He also played Drew in the reopening of "Rock of Ages" on Broadway in 2011.

"The level of commitment from the students is inspiring and their history as students of Stage to Screen added an element of confidence and trust from day one that can take weeks to develop when starting up a new production. Kevin Murphy, 'Heathers' book writer, has been sending over changes that really serve the piece well and keep the heart of what made the show popular intact," said Domenech in a statement.

"It's wonderful to see the students getting the first-hand experience of what it's like working with a new material on a show like this," he added.

Westerberg High is terrorized by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing junta: Heather, Heather, and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects the evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place--six feet under. Deliciously dark, funny, romantic, and moving, "Heathers: The Musical" is a truthful, uplifting parable for anyone who's ever been in love, in trouble, or in high school.

The double cast in this "Heathers the Musical" production includes Tori Ciccone and Emma Kowlachuk as Veronica Sawyer, Austin Pogrob and Jarred Ross as J.D., Kaleigh Liebler and Alissa Liebler as Heather Chandler, Julia DeVita and Kimmy Friedman as Heather Macnamara, Lisa Jivin and Mia Santomauro as Heather Duke, Katie Friedman and Alexa Speciale as Martha Dunnstock, Will Devito as Kurt Kelly and Matt Henningsen as Ram Sweeney. Rounding out the cast are Gage Deoquino, Ann Glackin, Adam Leibowitz, Matty Levenberg, Sari Strizik, Alex Vallejos, Kat Vallejos, and Anna Waiter.

The production also features the musical direction by Adam Slawitzky, choreography by Nicolina Sciascia, and associate direction by Tyler Matos.
