Bethel Woods Center For The Arts Calls For Volunteers To Join Nonprofit Organization
By: Stephi Wild
Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will host a Volunteer Open House on February 15th from 9 AM - 12 PM in The Event Gallery to provide information on volunteering during upcoming year.
Volunteers play an integral role in concerts, creative programming, and festivals, as well as in The Museum at Bethel Woods. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Center relies on the generosity of volunteers who give their time, talent and attention every season. The Open House will include museum tours, presentations, and the opportunity to talk with current volunteers and staff members about spring opening, training, scheduling, and the rewards of volunteering. "We need to keep the [Woodstock] message strong, and the only way to do that is through Bethel Woods' mission statement and to make sure that the generations that follow us understand what happened here, and continue on the same path," Nick Ercoline, a Bethel Woods volunteer said. In 2019, Bethel Woods' 286 volunteers donated an amazing 20,480 hours to the organization - a 52% increase from the previous year. The volunteer retention rate remains at 91% - an impressive number, especially when compared to the nonprofit organization industry standard of 66%. Bethel Woods also welcomed 78 new volunteers during the 50th anniversary year - the largest amount of recruits in one year since the department began.- Museum Hands-On: Saturday, March 7th
- Museum Education and Creative Programs Hands-On: Wednesday, March 11th
- Concert Hands-On: Saturday, April 25th OR Saturday, May 16th
