Pianist Philip Fortenberry Performs 'Broadway, My Way' Concert 11/22

Philip Fortenberry, a concert pianist and "Jersey Boys" Associate Conductor, will perform "Broadway, My Way," a solo piano concert in Las Vegas to commemorate the decades he dedicated to performing in Broadway musicals. Fortenberry, in response to requests from his fans, will debut his newest CD, "Broadway, My Way" at the concert, and a limited number of CDs will be sold. His concert will be presented by the Performing Arts Society of NevAda Brown Bag Concerts on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Fortenberry, a virtuoso pianist and Broadway import who now makes his home in Las Vegas, will perform a solo offering of popular and classic Broadway show music he knows and loves so well. Too, he'll play the songs he learned directly from the composers, arrangers, directors, and stars of Broadway shows, some of which he helped to originate and bring to life.

In this concert, he'll weave the music of the Great White Way around the stories of his experiences on Broadway and share unique insights into the music and the special meaning each song has for him, including his own personal take on music from such modern classic hits as "CATS," "Evita" and "Jesus Christ Superstar," plus lesser known cult favorites like "Ragtime," "Sideshow" and "Seussical, the Musical." He'll also feature songs from the canon of great Broadway classics "Camelot," "South Pacific," and "Carousel."
