LV Philharmonic 2017-18 Season Performances To Air On Nevada Public Radio

The Las Vegas Philharmonic has partnered with Nevada Public Radio for the third year to broadcast performances from its just concluded 2017-18 season on Classical 89.7 FM Sundays at 2pm, starting July 1. Each broadcast will be 90 minutes to two hours in length and will include conversation with Music Director, Donato Cabrera and Nevada Public Radio's Dave Becker as well as full length performances by your symphony orchestra. The programs featured on air will include the following Las Vegas Philharmonic concerts:

Upcoming air dates:

  • July 1: Oktoberfest - Cabrera Conducts Beethoven, Mozart & Bruckner (performed 10/14/17)
  • July 8: Copland in Mexico - Cabrera Conducts Copland & Revueltas (performed 11/4/17)
  • July 15: A Baroque Holiday - Handel's Messiah (performed 12/2/17)
  • July 22: Musicians' Choice - Cabrera Conducts Bach, Debussey & Vaughan Williams (performed 1/13/18)
  • July 29: Sounds From Twilight - Cabrera Conducts Torke, Schumann & Beethoven (performed 2/10/18)
  • August 5: Carmina Burana - Cabrera Conducts Hindemith & Orff (performed 4/14/18)
  • August 12: Season Finale - Cabrera Conducts Bernstein, Beethoven & Prokofiev (performed 5/19/18)

"Nevada Public Radio's broadcasts of the Las Vegas Philharmonic performing in the magnificent acoustics of Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center offers an introduction to the musical gifts of your symphony orchestra for those that haven't yet attended one of our concerts," said Donato Cabrera, music director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic. "It will also offer our seasoned audience members and supporters the opportunity to hear and enjoy an encore performance and re-live the experience they had in the concert hall."

The Las Vegas Philharmonic, led by Music Director, Donato Cabrera, established its presence in Southern Nevada in 1998. The mission of the organization is to perform music that enriches and educates, helping to build a vibrant, culturally rich community. A proud resident company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the Las Vegas Philharmonic brings a valued cultural dimension to the city, providing over 23,000 children each year with vital access to a music education program and showcasing local talents alongside stellar nationally and internationally known guest artists on the magnificent Reynolds Hall stage.
