Dolora Zajick's Institute for Young Dramatic Voices (IYDV) offers free master classes as well as a free concert of songs and arias sung by students with piano accompaniment. All these events are held at Nightingale Hall, 1335 North Virginia Street, Reno, NV, and no tickets are required for any of them.

Born of a desire to train young dramatic singers and help them reach the world stage, the Institute is an innovative three-week intensive summer program of study for singers aged 15-36 who have large or unusual voices at various levels of development. Students study one-on-one with leading coaches and voice teachers who understand the nature of an adolescent voice unfolding in a growing body. The Institute's carefully selected experts from across the industry work in close collaboration, not only with the students, but with each other to provide a solid foundation for the skills a professional singer needs to embark on and survive a successful operatic career.

In 2013, the Institute developed a partnership with the Wagner Society of Washington DC resulting in the American Wagner Project. It offers role study, German language diction, and specialized coaching as well as classes for future Wagnerian singers.

The IYDV free Masterclasses, which involve advanced student opera singers learning arias and operatic scenes, are held on Saturday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. On July 14, the teacher will be a mezzo-soprano world famous for her Italian dramatic roles, Dolora Zajick. On the 21, the teacher will be world famous Wagnerian soprano, Luana DeVol.

Held on July 28, 2018, at 6:00 PM at Nightingale Hall, the Institute's FINAL CONCERT will feature young dramatic singers from the United States and abroad singing operatic arias. It is the culmination of their study with the top level coaches and teachers from around the world whom Zajick has brought to Reno to work with them.
