Tenor Anthony Kearns to Launch the Irish Season in Kansas City at Harrah's, 3/3

Tenor Anthony Kearns, the original founding member of the Irish musical trio, The Irish Tenors, will kick-off the St. Patrick's Day Season in Kansas City at a "Celebration of Fine Irish Spirits and Irish Music" at Harrah's North Kansas City on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Mr. Kearns will perform at 6:45 p.m.

Registration is open (a month earlier than originally advertised) for Academy of Christian Theatre (ACT One) for all people under age 20 who want to build theater, vocal, dance, leadership & team-building skills in a fun way in June and July. There will be both a kids' day camp and a teen one.

American Heartland Theatre brings Oscar Wilde's farce The Importance of Being Earnest to Kansas City. A recent hit on Broadway, The Importance of Being Earnest is a comedy of mistaken identities which ridicules codes of propriety and etiquette. Dashing men-about-town John Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff pursue fair ladies Gwendolen Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. Matters are complicated by the imaginary characters invented by both men to cover their on-the-sly activities - not to mention the disapproval of Gwendolen's mother, the formidable Lady Bracknell, played by Jim Korinke.

What happens once the Ugly Duckling comes out of her shell? She takes a show business journey to become a singing swan superstar! Kansas City audiences can catch the one-night-only performance of Lucky Duck by the Coterie Theatre at 7 p.m. March 8 at the Folly Theater, 1020 Central. The musical comedy with its Kansas City cast will then take flight for its debut at the New Victory Theater in New York March 16-25.

Starlight Theatre Offers Free Tickets to Not-for-Profit Groups

Each summer Starlight Theatre puts a free night of musical theatre within reach for clients of qualifying not-for-profit organizations. Since the theatre's inaugural season in 1951, the Starlight Community Ticket Program has distributed 364 free tickets to every night of every performance to area not-for-profits and the individuals they serve.

The LIKEME Organization, founded by country music recording artist and Kansas native Chely Wright, will open its first LIKEME Lighthouse in Kansas City on March 10, 2012. Located in Midtown Kansas City, the Lighthouse is a welcoming and safe community center for the LGBT community, their families and straight allies. Doors will be open Monday-Saturday, 11AM to 7PM, and on Sunday from 12PM to 6PM.

Red Bull Thre3Style is an innovative concept that gives highly skilled DJs a global platform to showcase their skills, battle and gain notoriety by rockin' the dance floor. Unlike other DJ battles that are based on solely technical aspects, Red Bull Thre3style has a creative and original format that seeks to find the DJ that has best perfected the true art of "party rockin'." Eight of Kansas City's top DJs will vie for the audience and judges' favor, each with a 15-minute set that MUST contain at least three different musical genres. A panel of music industry judges will select the winners based on track selection, creativity, mixing skills, stage presence and crowd reaction; and ultimately decide who is the best on the decks in Seattle.
