Christian Youth Theater Kansas City Adds Shawnee Location

Christian Youth Theater Kansas City (CYTKC) announces its expansion in Shawnee, Ks. This will be CYT's fourth location in the Kansas City metro area.

An interest/information meeting will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 7PM for those interested in learning more about the program and the new location. The meeting will be held at CYT's new location for classes and show rehearsals, GracePoint Church of the Nazarene, 5425 Martindale, Shawnee, Ks. Christian Youth Theater Kansas City is a part of a national organization, started in San Diego over 30 years ago. CYT programs are offered in 20 cities in the United States and Canada. CYT Kansas City began in 1999 and currently hosts programs in the metro north (Gladstone), south (Overland Park/Olathe), east (Lee's Summit). An expansion to our fourth location in Kansas City to include the metro west area will take place in the fall of 2011 when programs will be offered in Shawnee.

Christian Youth Theater will offer after-school theater arts classes for kids ages 5 - 18 in this location beginning in the fall of 2011. Class enrollment begins August 1.

Youth ages 8 - 18 taking classes at any of our locations are eligible to audition for the shows. Each performance features approximately 80 - 110 metro area youth. CYTKC's west location will perform Robin Hood this fall.

Through after-school theater arts classes, opportunities to perform in Broadway-style productions, summer camps, a dance studio, leadership programs and more, CYT Kansas City focuses on developing not only theater arts skills, but also the character of each participant in an environment that is both supportive and challenging.
