POSITION: PRODUCTION MANAGER
STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

TERM: We would appreciate an initial commitment through the 2026/2027 Season (through July 31, 2027). Throughout the initial employment period, we will meet to evaluate performance and needs. PRODUCTION MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
This position is a managerial position responsible for the oversight, upkeep, and well-being of all production/technical aspects of the organization. - Manage, search for and schedule production and technical staff as needed throughout the year.
- Oversight of production activities within the theater and building, and the staff needed to make the productions, events, rehearsals, rentals, etc… happen.
- Communicate between creative teams, technicians, and management about all technical and creative aspects of the productions.
- Hire, schedule, and manage department heads and associated crews and run-crews. This shall include the Technical Director, Head Electrician and Sound Supervisor positions.
- Provide on-site supervision, management, and troubleshooting of production needs throughout the entire production process (and for all education programs, events, etc…).
- Planning and preparation of production schedules, in consultation with the Executive Leadership of the Company, artistic teams and in order to manage the efficient running and budgeting of the productions.
- Create, manage and ensure deadlines are fulfilled for all production (to include designs and technical matters) related matters.
- Organize and lead regular production meetings to support the productions. Ensure and manage and facilitate regular communication amongst all production and technical personnel.
- Work in collaboration with and under the direction of the Artistic Director and Producing Director, to manage all production elements and logistics including maintaining calendars, budget tracking, facilitating communication, and providing administrative support to all productions.
- Coordinate production support as needed throughout the rehearsal period.
- Oversee all performances, rehearsals, tech rehearsals, one-off events, and rentals from a production/technical perspective.
- Oversight and management of all bid processes (ie: Scenic, lighting, sound, video) for all departments. Negotiate on behalf of the company with all outside vendors.
- Maintain and create new relationships on behalf of the Theater (where appropriate and in conjunction with other appropriate theater personnel) with theatrical vendors, scenic and prop shops, rental houses, etc.
- Manage and oversee the storage areas and ensure that items are being taken care of and maintained.
- Oversight of all production elements within the theater - ie: all automation elements, lighting, sound gear, etc…
- Work with and oversee outside contractors to ensure proper staffing and schedules in advance of each season.
- Oversight and maintenance of all production budgets.
- Regular communication with Directors, Choreographers, Designers throughout the year and in advance of each season.
- To manage production staff and contractors by scheduling and overseeing their workload, ensuring protocols are complied with, and that the production teams provide an effective and efficient service to the organization at all times.
- To manage maintenance issues, ensuring the good repair of the theater and building and contribute to any upgrade works, as required
- To ensure that all theater equipment is kept in good repair and to lead on any replacements.
- Oversee that storage spaces are kept tidy and in good, organized condition and a proper inventory is maintained.

This position is in close contact, collaboration and coordination with the General Manager and the Executive Leadership of the company.
This is a full-time position where nights, weekends, early mornings are required from time to time (particularly during special events, pre-production, production, etc…). QUALITIES REQUIRED:
Leadership, self starter, calm demeanor, collaborative, excellent verbal and written communicator, creative problem solver..
Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously while exercising good judgment and discretion.
Strong project management skills that demonstrate the ability to deliver complex projects on time and on budget in a safe and efficient manner with artistic excellence.
The ability to manage shifting and competing priorities; work independently, and to maintain a positive attitude. COMPENSATION DETAILS:
SALARY RANGE: $62,000 - $68,000 annual gross salary
PAY PERIOD: Weekly, paid on a week-lag (exempt)
HOUSING: Housing and relocation assistance may be provided. Applicants need not be local to NY or CT, to apply.
BENEFITS: Eligibility to participate in Company Sponsored Health Plan, and PTO after three months employment with the Company (more details available).
