Department of Clients Services
Benvenuti Arts is seeking a Part-time Associate to join our team. The Part-time Associate will report to the Associate Director of Consulting Services under the Client Experience department.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Meeting directly with clients, providing guidance, advice, and strategy. Associate will begin with four to five clients and has the potential to grow in capacity and potential full time in the future;
- Managing services for dedicated clients, including maintaining a clean and up-to-date project calendar, coordinating a support team of other Benvenuti Arts staff, and acting as an efficient project manager;
- Managing communications with clients and team members via Slack, email, Asana, and other software;
- Researching fundraising prospects, strategies, and other administrative needs the client might have;
- Writing grants and collaborating with grant writers;
- Creating fundraising and administrative goals and plans;
- Attending Staff meetings, Department meetings, trainings and other gatherings;
- Other needs as they arise.
At Benvenuti Arts, it’s important that our Associates approach each client relationship individually, finding solutions for them that fit their unique needs and situation. In working with small and mighty arts organizations, we seek to find creative opportunities that make the most of their limited time and resources. Therefore, our Associate must be inquisitive, creative, flexible, and show great initiative in how they interact with and advise our clients.
Additionally, this position is not just grant writing and grants management! This position will learn and implement all areas of administrative and fundraising management for which Benvenuti Arts consults on, and be expected to develop their own skills in these tactics. The new staff will be trained and supported on this, and expected to eventually lead their clients’ strategies.
While we are open to a variety of different backgrounds, an ideal candidate would have:
- 3 to 4 years experience working in an arts organization of any kind, in any capacity. This could be volunteering, interning, or in another position;
- Grant writing experience for fundraising opportunities or transferable experience in writing;
- Experience in or knowledge of non-profit fundraising, ideally in the arts & culture sector;
- Working knowledge of art forms/disciplines and nonprofit organization structures;
- An ability to multitask and self-identify priorities;
- An ability to maintain organization in multi-user project management platforms such as Asana;
- An ability to work independently and virtually, while still part of a team; and
- A clear commitment to the values of Benvenuti Arts and a passion for small arts organizations across the world.
This position is Part-Time Employee status. We are a fully remote company, so the Associates must be prepared to manage their own schedule and coordinate with team members working in different time zones. This position offers:
- Pay of $30/hour as an employee, which will be sent every two weeks.
- This position will be about 15 - 20 hours/week, but flexible.
- $75 monthly health stipend.
- 12 Paid Time Off days, 10 Holiday Paid Time Off days and 2 Extra Paid Time Off during after Grant seasons, Disconnect Week Bonus, Accrued Sick Time Off and other benefits as outlined in the employee manual for part-time employees.
It is our intention for this position to start on January 4, 2027, but we are open to negotiating this date.
To apply, please complete this application form.(The application form requests that you to prepare a cover letter, resume, and two writing samples. These can be any grant, marketing, or comparable samples). Benvenuti Arts will accept applications until November 18, 2026. (If you are a Benvenuti Arts staff member applying for this position, we ask that you submit a sample that was not written in collaboration with other staff members.)
Interviews will take place between November 23 to December 4, 2026. We will hold two rounds of interviews. The first round will be with Deputy Director Julie Hord, Associate Director of Education, and Founder and CEO Sarah Benvenuti. The second round will be with the Associate Director of Consulting Nathan Bussard and other Associates on staff. Anyone interviewed in both rounds but not hired will be paid $25/interview for their time.
Onboarding Plan:
- Part-time Associate will onboard in January 2027, inclusive of training internally and joining meetings with various clients. All client meetings will be led by a current team member. Trainings will include general subjects as well as individual client deep dives.
- Part-time Associate will immediately take on 4 to 5 clients, with other team members supporting their transition for 3 to 4 months. They will do the bulk of the out-of-meeting work, including but not limited to grant writing, research, creation of fundraising plans, grant calendar management, and communication with interns on the preparation of client specific materials, under the oversight and direction of the lead Associate.
- In early July, 2027, the Part-time Associate will have a 6-month review, at which time - depending on performance and client base - a full-time Associate position may be discussed.
