Broadway General Manager

Halcyon Theatricals is seeking an experienced General Manager with pre-existing Broadway managerial experience to join Tony Award winning producer Hal Luftig and the Halcyon Theatricals team. This newly created position will serve as a key member of the company's new general management firm, overseeing its business and operations while managing a diverse slate of Broadway, Off-Broadway and Touring productions from development through production and beyond.



Working closely with Hal Luftig, the Lead Producer, the General Manager will coordinate the financial, contractual, administrative, and operational aspects of each production while helping to establish and grow Halcyon's general management firm. Tamar Climan, a consultant with decades of commercial Broadway general management experience, is advising Halcyon on the creation and launch of the new firm.

Responsibilities



Manage the business and operational affairs of assigned productions throughout all phases of development, production, and ongoing operation.



Develop, monitor, and update production budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts.



Coordinate with creative teams, production management, company management, business affairs, legal counsel, and outside consultants to ensure productions remain on schedule and on budget.



Negotiate and administer agreements with unions, artists, production personnel, and vendors.



Oversee production accounting, payroll, insurance, banking, financial reporting, cash flow management, and investor reporting.



Prepare regular reports and analyses for the producing team.



Coordinate workshops, readings, rehearsals, and production logistics, as needed.



Establish efficient, scalable administrative systems and procedures that support the company's growing production slate, including strategic planning and infrastructure building.



Anticipate operational challenges and develop practical solutions to keep productions moving efficiently.



Represent Halcyon in dealings with industry partners, theatre owners, unions, vendors, and production personnel.

Qualifications



Significant experience in commercial theatre general management, including Broadway productions.



Thorough understanding of theatrical budgeting, contracts, payroll, accounting, and financial reporting.



Thorough understanding of Actors' Equity, Local 1, IATSE, SDC, AFM, USA, ATPAM, and other industry agreements.



Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Exercises exceptional judgment, builds trust with artists, agencies, vendors, and industry partners, establishes strong relationships.



Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and remains calm under pressure.



Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related business software.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $175,000 to $225,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
