Stage Management Apprentices are an integral part of the stage management team in pre-production, rehearsal, and performance throughout Asolo Rep's season. SM Apprentices work closely with AEA Stage Managers and actors, union stagehands, and nationally recognized directors and designers.

Duties may include:

● Prepping for start of rehearsals with the AEA SM & ASM.

● Tracking props, costumes, and entrances/exits.

● Assisting in the maintenance of an organized, clean, and inclusive rehearsal room.

● Involvement in the choreographing of transitions and communication with the AEA ASM and IATSE crew.

● Helping to manage backstage throughout tech and performance.

Applicants should have:

● Strong communication skills

● Knowledge of the production process

● The ability and desire to work closely on a team of SMs

● Interest in pursuing stage management professionally

A college degree in theatre with a focus on stage management or equivalent experience is highly recommended. Professional experience at a regional or summer stock theatre is encouraged, and with union crews is a plus.

Stipend: $500 per week.
