Assistant Master Electrician

Position: Assistant Master Electrician

Department: Production

Salary Range: $23 - $24.50/ hr + overtime



General Summary: Asolo Rep (LORT B) Florida's premier professional theatre and one of

the most important cultural force in the Southeastern US is seeking to fill its Assistant

Master Electrician Position primarily responsible for the running of both large-scale

musicals and more intimate plays under the direction of Master Electrician. This is a full-time staff position which requires a candidate to be a resident of the community, modest

relocation available. This position is under an IATSE 412 contract union membership is not

required.

Essential Job Functions:

-Setup installation, operation, maintenance, repair and storage of lighting, video,

Effects and electrical equipment.

-Run shows on ETC Gio lightboard

-Act as lighting board programmer as required by Master Electrician

-Act as assistant to Lighting Designers as needed

-Perform other assigned duties as general stage technician including work with

sound, rigging, scenery and props.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Familiarity with fundamentals of electricity, electronics, and computer operation.

-General skills as stage technician.

-Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds.

-Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.

-Hours vary with the production calendar and show assignments. Work shifts include

afternoon and evening hours, weekend hours, and overtime
