Production Intern Job Descriptions
these internships will take place from August 2026-end of May 2027. Mildly flexible dates if have prior commitments. Costume Intern:
• Build, maintain, repair, and strike all costumes, wigs, and accessories for any production.
• Handle the wardrobe duties for any production that you are assigned. Electrics Intern:
• Assist with the installation, hang, focus, maintenance, and strike of lighting and sound equipment for all productions.
• Work as a Sound and/or Light Board Operator for any production you are assigned. Props Intern:
• Assist with the building or buying of properties for all productions.
• Work as backstage crew for any production that you are assigned. Paints Intern:
• Assist with painting of scenic elements for all productions.
• Work as backstage crew for any production that you are assigned. Carpentry Intern:
• Assist with the construction of set and prop pieces for all productions.
• Work as backstage crew for any production that you are assigned. Sound Intern:
• Assist with set up of audio equipment for all productions.
• Serve as A2 for any production that you are assigned.
• Serve as A1 for all Education Touring Shows. Stage Management Intern:
• Pre-Production, Setup and assisting with the running of rehearsals for any production that you are assigned.
• Working either backstage or as an operator for performances for any production that you are assigned.
• Maintaining stage management paperwork and rehearsal items as necessary. Production Swing Intern:
• Working with each production department depending on the need of the show
• Working either backstage or as an operator for performances for any production that you are assigned.
• Assisting Technical Director with execution of daily tasks.
• Assisting in production departments as assigned by Technical Director or Production Management. • All interns have housing available for a biweekly stipend. The apartment complex is Lexington Palms at the Forum. This complex has an in-unit washer and dryer, a pool, and a gym. Each person will have their own bedroom, but most likely a shared bathroom. It is roughly 20 minutes from the theater.
