Steppenwolf Theatre Company seeks an analytical, innovative, and galvanizing marketer for the role of Director of Marketing and Communications. This leader will join a talented senior staff team as the organization embarks on an exciting new chapter with the grand opening of its new Arts and Education Center.



The Director of Marketing and Communications supervises and leads all aspects of brand management, communications and earned ticket sales. Reporting to the Executive Director, serving as a member of Steppenwolf’s senior management team and working closely with both Artistic Directors, the Steppenwolf Ensemble and the Board of Trustees, the Director of Marketing and Communications manages a sophisticated team of eleven full-time staff.



The Director of Marketing and Communications focuses on growing new audiences while retaining and deepening relationships with current audiences, by leading Steppenwolf to the forefront of digital and new media marketing and engagement eorts. Further, the Director of Marketing and Communications works to elevate the brand of Steppenwolf both locally and nationally. With major milestones on the horizon, including the activation of Steppenwolf’s new Arts and Education Center and Steppenwolf’s 50th anniversary in the 2025/26 season, the Director of Marketing and Communications will be a key strategic partner as the theater explores how to leverage these historic events.



Salary Range: $90K-$110K
