JOB TITLE: Marketing Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Audience Development
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION RATE: $42,000 annually
LOCATION: 170 N Dearborn St. Chicago, IL 60601 (Hybrid Eligible)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Marketing department, supporting campaigns and communications across digital, print and on-site channels. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative and an effective communicator with strong writing and time-management skills. This position offers hands-on experience across a wide range of marketing functions—including digital content creation, website maintenance, data analysis, copywriting and editing, traditional print and digital traffic management and budget support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with members of the marketing and graphic design teams to ensure the timely delivery of all advertisements and marketing materials, including managing the turnover of building posters and the banners in front of the theater.
- Manage digital design requests to keep website-related assets on schedule. Maintain and update internal marketing and social calendars to streamline communication with external teams related to email marketing and social media schedules.
- Assist with maintaining updates throughout content management system (WordPress) including home page, play detail pages and event pages. Perform daily/weekly site QA and troubleshooting. Maintain SEO across The Goodman’s website to optimize The Goodman’s search visibility.
- Co-manage, write and maintain weekly updates for LinkedIn as the key stakeholder on this platform. Aid in copywriting, editing and publishing content along with creating alt text for images across The Goodman’s other social media platforms.
- Assist the Director of Digital Strategy with monthly reports to track the performance of The Goodman site and maintain the Google Grant account in service of promotional advertisement for Goodman productions to support overall growth in single ticket sales.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to oversee the marketing plans and execution for Goodman special events (i.e. Rentals, summer programming).
Track expenses within the marketing budget and assist during the annual budget reconciliation alongside the Director of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer.
- Assist the Director of Audience Development with the cultivation, outreach and execution of items in support of our accessible and enhanced services.
- Write play summaries for enhanced accessibility and for use by Education in developing student guides.
- Lead the recruitment of College Ambassadors and promote College Nights to university students.
- Alongside the marketing team, they compile data related to both traditional and digital marketing efforts to understand ROI, trends and more.
- Ensure The Goodman’s listings are updated on partner sites (Choose Chicago, Chambers of Commerce, etc.).
- Fulfill any partner organization requests for mutual marketing support including email swaps and reciprocal social media posts.
- Provide additional support as needed, including assistance in staffing and executing events.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional marketing or administrative experience preferred
- Excellent writing, communication and project managing skills
- Familiarity with Tessitura (or other CRM database) preferred
- Facility with Excel required
- Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-moving environment necessary
- Must be creative, flexible, open-minded, and enjoy working as part of a team and experimenting with ideas
- Occasional evenings and weekends as needed to staff and execute events
