Disney on CLASSIC: A musical event where New York-based vocalists and an orchestra perform Disney's iconic songs from animated films, movies, and theme parks. This year's theme is "With You." The event features the animated film "Beauty and the Beast,"presenting the story of "true love" that blossoms between the beautiful Belle and the Beast, including songs like “Beauty and the Beast,” "Be Our Guest," "Gaston," and "Something There," accompanied by video projections and lighting effects. The concert is divided into two parts, with the first part celebrating Disney's 100th anniversary.

The first part looks back at Disney's 100-year history. Starting from Mickey Mouse's debut in "Steamboat Willie,” and retrospecting Disney's history through a combination of visuals, storytelling, and music. The program selection is diverse, ensuring there's never a dull moment. The vocalists descended into the audience, performing “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” from "Peter Pan,” and in the case of "It's a Small World," the vocalists used a glow stick, engaging the crowd. During "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from 'Mary Poppins,' there was even a staging where the vocalists sat among the audience, providing enjoyment beyond just the singing.

“It Is Time" from "The Lion King" is grand and heart-touching with the orchestra and chorus. "Let It Go" from "Frozen" is accompanied by powerful drum beats, symbolizing Elsa's strong steps. The world of "Encanto" is brought to life with percussion in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno" The live-action film medley includes songs from "Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of The Black Pearl" and "The Avengers," delighting movie fans.

In the second part, the story of "Beauty and the Beast" is faithfully depicted. The prologue, with its dramatic bass and cymbals, sets the stage. The orchestra's live performance, coupled with dialogue, is especially vivid during Belle's father's invention scene. The fear of Belle's father, strayed into the Beast's castle, is conveyed with thunderous sound and Cory Lingner's compelling acting. In "Belle (Reprise)," Shaylen Harger's portrayal of Belle's passionate pursuit of her dreams is overwhelming. David Corlew's performance of Gaston's tavern scene includes dancing and brings movie scenes to life. During "Be Our Guest," the audience stands up and claps, filling the venue with smiles. Blue and purple spotlights from the stage to the ceiling create a party atmosphere even better. In "Something There," Hugh Entrekin vividly expresses the Beast's gentleness through music and acting, and the fans are moved by the growing affection between Belle and the Beast.

Belle and the Beast, both dressed up, made their entrance. Julia Hosack sings Mrs. Potts' "Beauty and the Beast," and the two dance in sync with the animated film on the screen—a sight that brings tears to the eyes. The faithful recreation extends to the starry night and the balcony scene. The villagers led by Gaston express their fear and unity in "The Mob Song," and the powerful performance is riveting. In the climax, as the Beast transforms back in the film, magical light emanates from the screen, illuminating the audience with the spotlight from the stage, creating an immersive experience. The final chorus by all vocalists beautifully closes the performance.

For the encore, Shaylen and others perform "How Does A Moment Last Forever" from the live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast." The video montage connecting previous Disney works, from "Tangled" to "Snow White" and "Brother Bear" to "Wreck-It Ralph," evokes deep emotions and nostalgia among the crowd.

A magical moment delivered through the awe-inspiring live performance by THE ORCHESTRA JAPAN and the high skilled vocalists. The venue truly turned into a "Magical Concert." Occasional sniffles and enthusiastic applause in between signify the fans' satisfaction. If you have even a slight interest in Disney music, I strongly recommend experiencing this magic for yourself.
