They are all winners of the John Alexander National Vocal Competition, named for John Alexander (1923-1990) who was an internationally known opera tenor from Meridian, Mississippi. The purpose of the competition, now in its sixth year, is to identify and recognize outstanding opera and musical theatre talent.
