Summer Camps And Scholarships For Camps Announced At New Stage

New Stage Theatre announces Early Bird registration for its 2018 Summer Camps for students currently enrolled in grades 1-11. Early Bird registration is now through May 1. This summer's camp has been broken down into three age appropriate camps. Students currently enrolled in 1st - 4th grades in the 2017-18 school year can participate in our New Stage Theatre First Stages Camp June 4 - 15, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students currently enrolled in 5th - 11th grades in the 2017-18 school year can participate in both the Summer Acting Intensive June 4 - 15, Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the Broadway Jr. Summer Camp June 18 - July 15, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Early Bird cost of the First Stages and Acting Intensive camps is $250. The Early Bird cost of the Broadway Jr. Summer Camp Intensive is $475. After May 1, registration is $300 for the First Stages and Acting Intensive camps, and $525 for the Broadway Jr. Camp.

The New Stage Theatre First Stages Camp will include creative dramatic games, structured improvisations, and will culminate in a showcase performance for invited friends and family. Camp Participants will receive instruction in acting, improvisation, stage movement, musical theatre, dance, voice and diction, and auditioning. The camp will conclude with an abridged performance of Disney's ALADDIN.

The Summer Acting Intensive will be two weeks of instruction and rehearsals, taught by seasoned theatre professionals culminating in a final production. Participants will receive instruction in acting, stage movement, and stage combat with an emphasis on classical literature.

The New Stage Theatre Broadway Jr. Camp Intensive includes an introduction to all elements of theatre production in daily classes. The culmination of the camp will be a fully produced production presented for four performances on New Stage's main stage. Camp participants will receive instruction in acting, improvisation, stage movement, musical theatre, dance, voice and diction, and auditioning.

The camps incorporate over 100 hours of instruction by theatre professionals with a combined 100 years of professional theatre experience. Coupled with the opportunity to perform on the main stage of a professional theatre, the New Stage Theatre Summer Camp Series is a "can't miss" event for your aspiring actors.
