Welcome to the eccentric world of Heartbreak House by Bernard Shaw. As World War I looms, Captain Shotover’s bohemian family host a dinner party in their grand country house. Among his guests is Ellie Dunne, whose decision to marry for money sparks an entertaining debate on matters of the heart.

Shaw’s unmistakable wit and stinging observations are to the fore in this satirical look at British high society carelessly sliding towards disaster.

Roisín McBrinn (No Escape, Perve) makes her directorial debut on the Abbey stage for our first ever production of Heartbreak House.
