In partnership with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, audiences will take a journey through the music history and stories of East Asia. Through live chamber music, storytelling, and multimedia,"Spirit of the East"explores the rich traditions of China, Japan, and Korea and the cultural exchange fostered by the Silk Routes. Featuring works by Karen Tanaka and Isang Yun, this engaging program reveals how music transcends borders, connecting cultures across centuries and reminding us of our shared humanity.
Spirit of the Eastis part of theIndianapolis Symphony Orchestra's Education and Community Engagementseries,History in Harmony. Created byAmy Kniffenand performed byIndianapolis Symphony Orchestra musicians, the series uses live music and storytelling to illuminate history, culture, and the human experience.

Establilshed in 1988, SAI seeks to enrich, connect & entertain through the art & experience of storytelling. Our Signature Series runs September through April at Frank & Katrina Basile Theater at Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. We also do monthly story slams and other events.
