A favorite among audiences and critics alike, Tony Award-winning Broadway star Victoria Clark brings her one-woman show to Indianapolis. The show will feature standards from the Great American Songbook alongside material from lesser-known composers and music from her Broadway career (The Light in the Piazza, The Grapes of Wrath, Sister Act: The Musical, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Cabaret, Urinetown, Titanic, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Bye Bye Birdie, Grand Night for Singing). The New York Times says Clark, in her Piazza, role gave "hands down the best musical performance by any actress this season." This is sure to be one show you won't want to miss!

The Encore Association has announced the nominees for Plays and Musicals for the 2011- 2012 Season of Encore. The winners will be announced at the 43rd Annual Encore Awards Fundraiser which will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Madame Walker Theatre Center, 617 Indiana Avenue in Indianapolis. The evening will begin with a social hour from 6 to 7 pm; with the fundraiser starting at 7 pm.

Set in nineteenth-century Switzerland, this classic tale of horror and suspense details the ill-fated experiments of young Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to fathom the secrets of life and death. Purchasing cadavers from two unsavory grave robbers, he give life to a creature both hideous and touching-and so physically powerful and mentally twisted that he soon brings death or destruction to all who stand in his way. Adhering more closely to the original novel than did the famous motion picture versions, the play blends moments of brooding terror and sudden shock with questions of morality and the dangers of unrestrained scientific inquiry.
