Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT To Be Performed By Garfield Park Shakespeare Company 9/4-9/12

Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT will be presented by Garfield Park Shakespeare Company at the Garfield Park Arts Center beginning September 4 and running through September 12. Performances will take place at 7 pm each evening.

Please join the Garfield Park Shakespeare Company in their final production of the 2009 season. This tale of mistaken identity, misplaced love and missing family is sure to keep audiences on their toes. TWELFTH NIGHT is a play about love, placed in a festive atmosphere in which three couples are brought together happily. It opens with Orsino, the Duke of Illyria, expressing his deep love for the Countess Olivia. Meanwhile, the shipwrecked Viola disguises herself as a man and endeavors to enter the Duke's service. Although she has rejected his suit, the Duke then employs Viola, who takes the name of Cesario, to woo Olivia for him. Ironically, Cesario falls in love with the Duke, and Olivia falls in love with Cesario, who is really Viola disguised.

Enjoy Shakespeare outdoors in Garfield Park on the lawn of the MacAllister Center. All performances are free and open to the public. Lawn chairs and picnics are welcome. This event is sponsored by the Indy Parks Department.  ADMISSION IS FREE.  For more information please call 317-327-7135.

In order to reach the MacAllister Center from I-65, take the Raymond Street Exit, Exit 109
Head west on Raymond Street for a very short distance
Take a left and head south on Shelby Street
Turn right onto Southern Avenue
Then turn right into the main entrance of Garfield Park and the MacAllister Center for the Performing Arts
Enter the amphitheater by foot through the south gate. The venue is handicap accessible as well.
