Lincoln Amphitheatre's "Classic Family Film Series" will continue in September with a movie filmed in the tri-state 20 years ago.
A League of Their Own ,directed by Penny Marshall and starring Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Rosie O'Donnell, and Madonna, was filmed in various parts of the Tri-State in 1991 including League Stadium in Huntingburg and Bosse Field in Evansville. The movie is set during the early 1940s when the first women's baseball league was formed. The story focused on the Rockford Peaches team and the struggles of keeping the sport alive.Lincoln Amphitheatre will show A League of Their Own on Saturday, September 3 at 8 p.m. CDT.September Movie Schedule:· Saturday, September 3, A League of Their Own

All movies begin at 8 p.m. CDT and are projected onto a 40 x 30 foot screen.
