The Regional Performing Arts Center in Carmel, Indiana, will welcome its new artistic director, Michael Feinstein, when it opens next fall. The centre will house a concert hall and two theatres. Carmel will also become the home of the headquarters for the Foundation for the Education and Preservation of the Great American Songbook. Facilities at the Centre will serve as exhibition and office space for the Feinstein Collection and other materials pertaining to the Great American Songbook. These materials will also be made available to scholars, as well as to students and the general public on special occassions.

Michael Feinstein is an American singer, pianist, and multi-platinum selling entertainer dubbed "The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook." His 150 plus shows a year have included Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and major concert halls, as well as the White House and Buckingham Palace. In 1988 he won a Drama Desk Award for celebrating American musical theatre songs. The Sinatra Project - his latest CD from Concord Records which celebrates the musical sensibilities of "Old Blue Eyes" - earned Feinstein his fifth Grammy Award nomination in 2009.

Feinstein is slated to return to Broadway in February with ‘All About Me', a new show written by Peter Ackerman, and featuring an orchestra accompanying Feinstein as he performs standards and other material.
