Wedding bells are ringing - but they're playing the blues for Stanley Banks as he unwillingly becomes the Father of the Bride at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre starting Aug. 22. Live on stage through Sept. 29, this hilarious comedy is the perfect match for the fall wedding season!

Stanley Banks still thinks of his daughter as a little girl in pigtails who has him wrapped around her finger. But reality shatters his delusion when she reveals an engagement ring is now there.

Kay Banks reassures her stunned father it will be a simple wedding with just a few friends. But soon the guest list is growing uncontrollably, and suddenly Mr. Banks' life and home have become a whirlwind of caterers, florists, furniture movers, dressmakers and ever-mounting turmoil. In the midst of the chaos, Kay calls off the wedding, closing the book on her happily ever after before the first chapter is written. It's going to take all he's got for this father to keep it together and help things get set right again before his sanity, finances, and possibly the bride herself, run out!

Based on the novel by Edward Streeter, Father of the Bride was made famous through the 1950 film starring Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett and Elizabeth Taylor, and later with the 1991 film starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Kimberly Williams.

Jeff Stockberger plays the role of stressed father Stanley Banks in Beef & Boards' updated production of Father of the Bride. Kristin Lennox plays his wife, Mrs. Banks, while Lisa Ermel plays the role of the bride, Kay Banks. Rounding out the cast are Joseph Mervis as Kay's brother, Tommy; Ben Tebbe as the groom, Buckley Dunstan; Ivory McKay as the flamboyant wedding planner Mr. Massoula; Deb Wims as Mr. Banks' secretary, Ms. Bellamy, and Sandra Belles as Butch.
