In the Cimbalom Show, the orchestra presents great works by Mozart, Brahms, Beethoween, List, Bach, Albinoni, Tchaikowsky and Gerschwin at the well-known Danube Palace in Budapest.
The Danube Symphony Orchestra has a long concert tradition, dating back to 1961, and performs the most famous classical melodies combined with the typical Hungarian instrument the "cimbalom" (concert hammer dulciner).
At times of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy, it was the tradition that "the noble families' children had to learn the cimbalom instead of the piano". Nowadays, it is a unique opportunity to hear the masterpieces of classical music interpreted by cimbalom and the Danube Symphonic Orchestra in a virtuous way - which can be enjoyed only in Hungary!
