Moores Opera Center presents another live, in-person opera experience: Albert Herring with performances on Saturday, April 10th and Monday, April 12th at 7:30 PM. Music by Benjamin Britten | Libretto by Eric Crozier.Sung in the original English with projected text over the stage.In a small British village, the hunt is on for a young girl innocent enough to be elected Queen of the May. When none are found, poor Albert is enlisted as May King instead, with unexpected and entertaining results. An ensemble cast of delightful English eccentrics proves that repression is rarely a good thing, and that lemonade turns out to go surprisingly well with a little rum. Come hear some of Houstons only live, in-person opera this season!For everyones safety, we have put in place extensive precautions to help mitigate the risk of the spread of Covid-19.Patrons and staff will be required to wear masks throughout the event, except when eating or drinking.Seating will be assigned by ushers upon arrival to ensure proper social distancing between parties. Event staff will ensure that social distancing is strictly adhered to by all attendees from arrival to departure from the event.All ticketing will be contactless. Tickets must be ordered in advance online. Please have your tickets printed or open on your mobile device upon arrival. The Box Office will not be open for Will Call or walk-up registration.The performance will also be live-streamed for our patrons and supporters who prefer to enjoy the opera from the comfort and safety of their home.
