The Charalampous Collection Art Exhibit On Display At  The Czech Center Museum Next Month

On September 5, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8. p.m., The Czech Center Museum will host a reception for the art exhibit entitled, "The Evolution of Greek Art to Our Times." This art exhibition contains a diverse selection from The Charalampous Art Collection, a private collection of Dr. Kanellos Charalampous and the Dexion Foundation. Dr. Charalampous is a renowned psychiatrist and professor who is now retired living in Houston, Texas. His collection spans countries from around the globe, and his joy is in sharing this collection with others.

Dr. Charalampous is a native of Greece and returns there often. He was drawn to the authenticity of expressions of many contemporary Greek artists, especially in the medium of prints, engravings, lithographs, serigraphs, watercolors, and other works. Dr. Charalampous continued his love of art in his travels to other countries and has amassed a collection of art that has spanned more than five decades.

The Czech Center Museum is delighted to be able to host this impressive collection, which includes the works of artists from many parts of Greece and the USA. The exhibition will reside at the museum through December 31, 2019, and is also co-hosted by The Consul of Greece, the Hellenic Cultural Center, and other Houston based Greek organizations.

The Czech Center Museum Houston is a non-profit educational, cultural arts organization located in the Museum District in Houston, Texas located at 4920 SAN JACINTO Street, Houston, Texas 77004.

In addition, the reception will introduce the biography Kanellos Charalampous: Confronting Zeitgeist and copies of a book specially prepared as a companion to the exhibition will be available.
