One Man, Two Guvnors begins the Alley Theatre's 2015-2016 season in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre on October 2, 2015. Winner of the Critics Circle Award and multiple Tony and Drama Desk Awards, this glorious comedy is a unique laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, and stupendous physical comedy. One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean is based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni with songs by Grant Olding and directed by Gregory Boyd. Previews begin October 2, Opening Night October 7, with performances continuing through November 1, 2015.

"We are excited to open the newly transformed Hubbard Stage at the Alley with One Man, Two Guvnors" said Artistic Director Gregory Boyd. "Richard Bean's brilliant adaptation of a classic comedy plays to the strengths of the Alley Theatre's Resident Company and is a fantastic blend of farce, brilliant language and physical comedy."

In the heart of 1960s' England, charming and doltish Francis, fired from his pop band, unexpectedly finds himself with two new jobs and two new bosses, who are connected to each other in wildly improbable ways. He has to keep them from discovering each other - and that turns out to be not so simple. Mistaken identities, outrageous farce, love triangles and inspired lunacy are the result. One Man, Two Guvnors was called "The funniest show in the western world," by the Daily Mail, and described by the Daily Telegraph as "Comic perfection."

The Alley began an extensive $46.5 million renovation of the Hubbard Theatre, backstage area, and public spaces in July 2014. "The combination of the extended stage and reducing the number of seats to 774 creates a whole new level of intimacy in the Hubbard for our patrons that will be perfectly showcased by One Man Two Guvnors" said Managing Director Dean R. Gladden.

The cast of One Man, Two Guvnors features Resident Company members Jeffrey Bean, James Black, Elizabeth Bunch, Paul Hope, Chris Hutchison, Melissa Pritchett, David Rainey, Jay Sullivan, Emily Trask and Todd Waite. Also joining the cast are Steven Epp, John Feltch, Elspeth Brodie, Joseph Palmore and Trace Pool.

One Man, Two Guvnors features a live band composed of Houston musicians Ryan Chavez, Aaron Echegaray, Chris Goodwin and Mike Whitebread.

The creative team includes Scenic Designer Hugh Landwehr, Costume Designer David C. Woolard, Lighting Designer David Lander, Sound Designer Lindsay Jones and Physical Comedy Direction by Christopher Bayes. Additional members of the creative team are Musical Director Gregg Coffin, Dialect, Voice and Text Coach Pamela Prather, Choreographer Peter Pucci and Assistant Director Brandon Weinbrenner.
