Director Harry Wong is seeking an ensemble of 8 to 12 actresses. Lois-Ann Yamanaka's groundbreaking poetry about girls' journeys to adulthood comes to the stage for the first time, in voices that are lyrical, funny, painful and raw.
Auditions will be held at Kumu Kahua Theatre, 46 Merchant Street, on Saturday, November 12, 1pm-4pm, and Sunday, November 13, 6pm-9pm. The entrance into the theatre faces a park on Merchant Street. Rehearsals begin as early as Monday, November 21. Performances will be from January 26 through February 26, with the possibility of a week's extension.
Auditioners are strongly encouraged to read the script before coming to audition. Copies of the poems are available for loan with a $10 cash deposit at Kumu Kahua Theatre. Call 536-4222 to get a script and for more information.
