'Die Zärtlichkeit der Russen' is an irritating title. War, occupation and post-war period is surely to find in the personal stories of main characters. On the other hand, the director does not focus on those facts. One character is an old lady that was raped by the Russiians and says repeatedly: it had been so tender. Had it really been or is it a beautiful lie which helped her to survive?
