Opera Naples Summer Opera Film Series Features Faust With Piotr Beczala Next Week

Opera Naples, one of Naples' leading performing arts organizations, will be featuring "Faust" (Teatro Real) with Piotr Beczala during its summer film series of classic European operas, HD at Opera Naples. Screening will take place at 3 p.m. on Aug. 17, shown on the Wang Opera Center's expansive high-definition LED theater screen. Adult tickets are $22; student tickets are $10. Free popcorn will be provided and refreshments will be available.

The Teatro Real opened its 2018-19 season with this new production of Charles Gounod's "Faust," inspired by the German legend of a man who sells his soul to the Devil in exchange for knowledge, power, wealth and youth, in a grand opera format. Piotr Beczała plays the part of the protagonist, the figure of relentless ambition par excellence, while Marina Rebeka sings the role of Marguerite. Àlex Ollé directs this captivating opera.
