Review: WINTER WONDERETTES at The Off Broadway Palm is Marvelously Merry!

WINTER WONDERETTES at Broadway Palm's Off Broadway Palm Theatre is a lighthearted, festive musical featuring some of your favorite holiday songs and a simple but entertaining storyline about the entertainers (the Marvelous Wonderettes) at Harper's Hardware Holiday Happening.

WINTER WONDERETTES starred Melissa Whitworth as Missy Lee, Lexie Wolfe as Suzy Stevens, Sarah Hinrichsen as Betty Jean Reynolds, and Sarah Mae Banning as Cindy Lou Huffington. I thoroughly enjoyed how these four women worked together on stage. Not only were they each fantastic at creating very distinct personalities for their characters, but they all interacted very well and had excellent harmonies together. I also really enjoyed all the choreography for the show, which I commend WINTER WONDERETTES Director and Choreographer Amy Marie McCleary for.

This show was very interactive with the audience; two audience members became Missy's husband, Bill, and Bob for the evening, and even yours truly was pulled on stage to "ring" a bell during one part of the show (ding ding!).

WINTER WONDERETTES was split into different sections; some of them focused more on classic Christmas songs, but there also was a "Christmas Around The World" section, and it was very fun to hear the variety.

The set of WINTER WONDERETTES was also very cute and functional for the show, thanks to P&P Design, as most of the set pieces could be moved around by the cast for each transition in between sections. I appreciated how clever it all was.

WINTER WONDERETTES is playing at The Off Broadway Palm Theatre now through December 25. The Off Broadway Palm is an intimate 100-seat theatre, located in the main lobby of Broadway Palm.
