Overview
The Roundabout Directing Fellowship, established in 2017, selects one early-career director who has not yet directed at a major off-Broadway or regional theatre for a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible season at Roundabout Theatre Company starting in late August. The fellow assistant directs two to three productions (with the aim of at least one on Broadway), supports the artistic office with script coverage, and receives space, casting and literary resources for developmental workshops of two projects, plus a professional-development fund and headshot session. The program prioritizes directors from underrepresented groups and is supported by The Tow Foundation.
Eligibility
Early-career directors who have not yet directed a production at a major Off-Broadway or regional theatre; must be authorized to work in the US and live in NYC. Focus on underrepresented talent.
Notes
2026-27 Fellow: Ciera Miller. Fellow assistant directs 2-3 productions (aim for at least one Broadway) and receives resources for developmental workshops of two projects. Supported by The Tow Foundation.
