NAMT's Festival Creative Assistantship, a reimagining of the former NAMT Festival Observership, gives early-career professionals from underrepresented groups hands-on roles as departmental assistants in directing, script or music during the annual Festival of New Musicals. Participants work closely with the festival's directors, writers and music directors, attend all rehearsals, sound checks and presentations, and join select NAMT Fall Conference panels and networking events. Applications open in July each year.
