Equity actors for future replacements for principal roles in the Broadway production and the National Touring (#2) production of WICKED (See breakdown).

Please sing a brief contemporary musical theater song showing range. Sopranos may sing a brief traditional legit musical theater song showing range. Please bring sheet music for the piano accompanist provided.

WICKED (Broadway/Tour #2)

SEEKING:

ELPHABA Character is female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 20s, any ethnicity. The “wicked” witch. Born with emerald-green skin, she has had a rough childhood and is an outcast from the beginning. Smart, fiery, sensitive, passionate, misunderstood, sincere, has potent inner beauty, rallies for the underdog, has great talent for sorcery. Has a thrilling, powerhouse, contemporary high-belt singing voice. A lead capable of carrying a big show.

GLINDA Character is female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 20s, any ethnicity. The “good” witch. Charming, entrancing, ambitious, perky, vain, very popular, a social climber, but also vulnerable and sympathetic. Her friendship with Elphaba reveals more depth in her character. Has excellent comic chops and a glorious singing voice with high soprano and belt capability. A lead capable of carrying a big show.

FIYERO Character is male (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 20s-Early 30s, any ethnicity, height of 5’11” or taller. A striking prince with a philosophy of “Dancing Through Life.” A wealthy, dangerous party boy who at first is attracted to Glinda. Initially he is shallow and self-absorbed; however, his growing relationship with Elphaba prompts him to reexamine his way of thinking. Has an effortless contemporary tenor singing voice. Strong movement ability.

THE WIZARD OF OZ Character is male (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 50s – 70s, any ethnicity. A carnival huckster who blew into Oz in a hot air balloon and became a false-faced leader. Has a strong, distinctive, engaging, sweet character with a character singing voice.

MADAME MORRIBLE Character is female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 50s – 70s, any ethnicity. A sorceress and Headmistress of Shiz University. Dignified, powerful, haughty, has a dark side. Takes Elphaba under her wing, training her in sorcery. Is a strong, comical character with a formidable presence. Sings a little; should be able to carry a tune.

NESSAROSE Character is female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 20s, any ethnicity. Elphaba’s striking, lonely, compassionate younger sister, she was favored by their father. Has spent her life in a wheelchair. Her unrequited love for Boq leads her to become the Wicked Witch of the East. Commanding with a strong lyrical voice and musical theatre belt.

BOQ Character is male (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 20s, any ethnicity, height of 5’7” or shorter. A helpless, quirky munchkin. Enamored with Glinda, who pays him no mind. Reluctantly, he becomes involved with Nessarose. Comical with a strong tenor singing voice.

DOCTOR DILLAMOND Character is male (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), late 40s – 60s, any ethnicity, height of 5’10” or taller. A distinguished and well-liked professor at Shiz University. He is a goat and the sole animal on the faculty. He becomes a victim to the animal discrimination occurring in Oz. Has a sense of gravity and authority and a benevolent air. Sings a little; character singing voice.
