SPT Expected to attend:
Equity actors for roles in the Plays in Ten Thousand Things' 2026-27 Season (see breakdown).
We would be delighted for actors of all abilities, disabilities, ethnicities, cultures, and gender identities to audition, with encouragement to global majority and gender-expansive artists. Ten Thousand Things employs diverse, inclusive, and gender-imaginative casting for all roles as culturally appropriate to the telling of the story. The genders of the characters and the genders of the artists do not need to match, though for storytelling the gender of the characters may need to be explicitly legible to the audience.
An ASL interpreter will be provided 10:00 AM–11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10th.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.
The audition for the Musical will be held at a later date.
Please prepare a verse monologue, 2 minutes maximum. Prepare your piece with direct address to the audience in the audition room. Additional, if desired: we would be happy to hear a committed contemporary prose monologue. Always bring your Equity Membership card to auditions.
Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination. Equity is committed to diversity and encourages all its employers to engage in a policy of equal employment opportunity designed to promote a positive model of inclusion. As such, Equity encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to attend every audition.
Note: Actors great with heightened text and multiple characterizations are encouraged to audition.
Note: Actors great with poetry and multiple characterizations for this fusion of Yoruba spirituality, Greek mythology, and basketball are encouraged to audition.
