All stage management positions are filled.

PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNICITIES, PHYSICAL TYPES, GENDER IDENTITIES, AND AGES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a short song in the style of the show. Singing from the show is fine. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Holding room 12N – Capacity - no more than 30 people

Audition room 12D - Capacity - no more than 10 people

Seeking:

Thomas Andrews 30’s, Tenor - Designer of The Titanic; Strong yet quiet, and full of integrity, he is the moral compass and intellectual barometer of the show. Sings multiple solos, including the gut-wrenching climactic Andrews’ Vision as the ship sinks onstage.

J. Bruce Ismay, 40’s, Baritone - Owner of the White Star Line. High-brow, aloof, easily frustrated when disregarded,

Captain E.J. Smith, 50’s-60’s, Baritone - A fatherly figure with white hair and beard, he commands with deep care for his passengers and encouragement toward his younger officers.

Frederick Barrett 20’s-30’s Tenor - A Stoker. He is strappingly strong, keenly intelligent, and capable. He questions the motivations of the powers-that-be.

Harold Bride, 20’s -early 30’s Baritone - Wireless operator. A shy and socially awkward young man, he obviously yearns for connection. He has found in his telegraph machine a fascinating and thoroughly engaging way to connect to people the world over.

William Murdoch 30’s Baritone -1st Officer, An experienced officer who really should have been a captain by now but isn’t sure he is up to it.

Henry Etches, 30’s-40’s Tenor - Senior Steward, 41, An experienced steward to first class passengers. Some might call him stuffy, but he just really cares.

Isador Straus late-50s/early-70s. Bass/Baritone - Owner of Macy’s department store in New York. Devoted to his wife.

Ida Straus, late-50s/early-70s Mezzo Soprano - Devoted to her husband, refused to get into a lifeboat without him.

Jim Farrell, 20’s-30’ – Baritone -One of a large number of Irish immigrants in steerage (3rd class) looking to start afresh in America.

Kate McGowan, 20’s – Mezzo Soprano – Another Irish immigrant. Strong, feisty, determined.

Alice Beane, 30’s-40’s, Alto -2nd class and very upwardly mobile, comic character with a big voice and personality.

Edgar Beane, 30’s-40’s, Baritone - more content and less ambitious than his wife. More dialogue than singing.

Caroline Neville 20’s-30’s, Soprano -Lovely young woman -engaged to marry Charles Clarke and looking to make a new start.

Charles Clarke 20’s – 30’s, Baritone -Young journalist, engaged to Caroline, wanting to make a new life for themselves in America.
