BREAKDOWN

2:22 A GHOST STORY

PLEASE NOTE: unless otherwise specified, for all roles we are actively

SEEKING

and welcoming of actors of any ethnicity, race, gender/gender identification/gender expression, and physical and neurological ability.

SEEKING:

  • [ SAM ] Male, mid 30s - late 40s. British. An attractive and charming physics professor and writer. Married to JENNY; they’ve recently had a new baby. Witty, logical, and reasonable in the extreme. His warmth and good humor go a long way in preventing him from seeming like an insufferable know-it-all. Disbelieving/dismissive of his wife’s fears that something supernatural might be happening in their new home. Standard RP accent.
  • [ BEN ] Male, mid/late 30s - early/mid 50s. Working class British. New boyfriend of SAM’s ex, LAUREN. A self-made, working class man, rough around the edges and proud of it. Has worked hard for what he has, and has definite feelings about Sam’s and Jenny’s affluence and their (at least to him) posh home and way of life. Despite this possible shoulder chip, and his verbal tête-à-têtes with SAM about everything from politics to relationships, BEN is for many reasons that unfold more readily accepting of JENNY’s fears about the possible presence of the supernatural in her and SAM’s home. Very strong working-class British accent.
  • [JENNY] [ROLE IS CAST] Female, 30s - 40. British. A schoolteacher and new mother who has been experiencing strange and disturbing phenomena while caring for her newborn alone in an old London Victorian terrace house while her husband is away on a job. Standard RP accent.
  • [LAUREN] [ROLE IS CAST] Female, mid 30s - late 40s. American. A friend of Sam’s from university. A Freudian psychoanalyst. Attractive, whip-smart and witty. Spends much of the evening trying to smooth over the tensions brewing and occasionally erupting between her old friend and her boyfriend. And steadily drinking while doing so.
  • [ PC MILLER ] Female, 30s-40s. British. A London police officer called to investigate a disturbance at a local residence. To also internally cover JENNY and LAUREN. Standard RP accent.
  • [ PC STIRLING ] Male, 30s-40s. British. A London police officer called to investigate a disturbance at a local residence. To also internally cover SAM and BEN. Standard RP accent.
