The Cat in the Hat: Non-gender specific casting to play 20s-40s. Narrator. Strong character actor and mover with excellent comic & improv skills. (Vocal range F2-F4 or G3-C5.)
Horton the Elephant: Male identified to play 20’s-40’s. Gentle, compassionate, kindhearted. (Vocal range A2-F4.)
JoJo: Male identified to play 8-13. Mayor’s son, bright, creative and inadvertently mischievous, unchanged voice. (Vocal range Ab3-C5)
Gertrude McFuzz: Female identified to play 20’s-30’s Horton’s one feathered-tail bird neighbor, very kind and loyal. (Vocal Range F3-F5, Age Range 20-35)
Mayzie Labird: Female identified to play 20s-30s. Obliviously self-centered, powerful singing voice, good mover/dancer, comical. (Vocal range: Eb5-G3)
Sour Kangaroo: Female identified to play 30’s-40s. Leader, brassy, stubborn (Vocal Range F#3-F5, Age Range 25-40)
Mr. Mayor: Male identified to play 20’s-40’s. Mayor of Whoville and JoJo’s father. (Tenor)
Mrs. Mayor: Female identified to play 20s-40s. JoJo’s Mother. (Mezzo)
Wickersham Brothers: Male identified pranksters that love a good time. Strong movers and part singers. (Tenor/Baritone, Age Range 20’s-30’s)
