BREAKDOWN

FROZEN

SEEKING:

ELSA – 20s – Female presenting. Next in line to become the new Queen of Arendelle. Reserved and hesitant, yet with an aching, elusive warmth she yearns to express, Elsa has been taught to fear and hide the magical powers she inherited. Fearful of hurting anyone, especially her beloved sister, Anna, Elsa becomes anxious and withdrawn as she grows older, before eventually learning to take control of, and become confident in, her powers. Strong belter. Mezzo-Soprano.

ANNA – 20s – Female presenting. Elsa’s sister, the optimistic, enthusiastic, and slightly disheveled Princess of Arendelle. Anna is filled with uncontained curiosity, light, and energy. Naturally funny and courageously fearless, her greatest flaw – and her greatest strength – is her faith in love. Great comic timing; a royal clown. Strong belter with soprano/mix.

KRISTOFF – 20s – Male presenting. A human orphan raised by Hidden Folk in the forest. Kristoff is a self-reliant ice-seller & Mountain Man whose best friend is a reindeer, for whom he provides a voice so they can have conversations. Kristoff is naturally warm with a good heart, and a bit of a loner until he meets Anna. Although he’s doubtful about Anna’s mountaintop mission, he nonetheless does everything he can to make it happen. Baritone.

HANS – 20s – Male presenting. The ambitious Prince of the Southern Isles and overlooked thirteenth son of a king. Prince Hans is a real charmer – but is he? Anna falls for his quick wit on the spot – he gets her. He boasts an exceedingly charming facade that fools everyone - including Anna - into believing he's Prince Charming, when really, he's just a jerk. Of course, a Tenor.

OLAF – 20s – Any gender. A comic, magical snowperson created by Anna and Elsa when they were young. A big-voiced snowman, Olaf is pure goofy innocence, completely delighted to be anywhere, doing anything, with anyone. Great singer (tenor or alto) with excellent comic timing. NOTE: Puppeteering experience a plus.

WESELTON – 50s – Male presenting.

The visiting Duke of Weselton, a chauvinistic, bombastic, intolerant diplomat seeking any opportunity to get ahead, if only to soothe his huge inferiority complex. He seizes on Elsa’s “accident” to spread fear and discredit the entire royal family of Arendelle. Height maximum preferred 5’7”. Baritone.

SVEN – Male presenting. The lovable reindeer & fiercely loyal (and prankish) sidekick to Kristoff. Funny, inquisitive and intuitive. Dancers/Acrobats with strong upper body and core strength and stamina to operate a full body puppet. Height minimum 5’10” max 6’2”. NOTE: This role requires advanced puppeteering skills.

YOUNG ELSA – 11 years old – Female presenting. Bright, poised, elder princess of Arendelle who adores and wants to please her younger sister. She aims to be a perfect daughter, but wrestles with a dangerous talent. Soprano.

YOUNG ANNA – 8 years old – Female presenting. Energetic, free-spirited younger princess of Arendelle who dotes on every word and movement of Elsa, but her daring enthusiasm instigates rule-breaking. She is heartbroken when she is isolated from Elsa by their parents. Doubles as the Hidden Folk Child. A strong singer with great comic timing. Soprano.
