SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in COME FROM AWAY (See

Local Actors are encouraged to audition.

Actors of all ethnicities, and gender identities are encouraged to audition as our casting seeks to be as inclusive as possible.

PREPARATION

Please prepare up to 2-minutes of two contrasting selections in the style of the show. Singing from the show for one of your selections is acceptable. A headshot and resume are required.

COME FROM AWAY

SEEKING:

DIANE (Female presenting, Age range: 40–60) A worried Texan mother who finds a carefree, new lease on life after learning her son is safe from the attacks. Vocal range: Soprano/mezzo with strong mix. Doubles as Crystal & Brenda

HANNAH (Female presenting, Age range: 40–60) Any ethnicity. A heartbroken mother who waits by the phone in agony for news about her missing son, a New York City firefighter. Vocal range: Soprano with strong high mix. Doubles as Margie and Mickey.

JANICE (Female presenting, Age range: 20–29) An eager new local TV reporter, Janice is thrown into the deep end on her first day. Vocal range: Mezzo Soprano with a strong belt. Doubles as Britney and Flight Attendant.

BEULAH (Female presenting, Age range: 40-70) Head of the Gander Legion, with a firefighter son. Quick-witted and open hearted, Beulah loves to share a joke. Vocal range: Mezzo Soprano with strong belt. Doubles as Delores

BONNIE (Female presenting, Age range: 30-45) A dedicated animal shelter worker and mother of three who braves dangerous plane cargo holds to save and care for the stranded pets. Vocal range: Mezzo Soprano. Doubles as Martha.

BEVERLY (Female presenting, Age range: 40-60) A trailblazing American Airlines pilot who loves to fly but faces the reality of her profession being used as a weapon. Vocal range: Soprano belt with strong high mix. Doubles as Annette & Reporter.

OZ (Male presenting, Age range: 30-60) Gander's sole police constable who uses humor and a big heart to keep the peace and help the town adjust to the sudden crowd. Doubles as Joey, Customs Officer, Mr. Michaels, Terry, Matty, Rabbi, Cardiologist

KEVIN T (Male presenting, Age range: 30-55) The head of an environmental energy company, Kevin was on vacation with his boyfriend when they are stranded in Gander. Vocal range: High Tenor. Doubles as Garth & President Bush

KEVIN J (Male presenting, Age range: 25-40) Middle Eastern, Latino, Asian, or any ethnicity; Kevin's boyfriend. Sarcastic and unhappy, he wants to get back to the U.S. as soon as possible. Vocal range: Baritone Doubles as Dwight & Ali

BOB (Male presenting, Age range: 30-50) African–American. A hardened New Yorker, Bob is suspicious of where he's landed, fearing that it's World War 3. Vocal range: Baritone. Doubles as Muhumuza, Captain Bristol

CLAUDE (Male presenting, Age range: 45-70) The quick-thinking Mayor of Gander who leads his small town to welcome thousands of stranded travelers. Vocal range: Gruff Baritone with a strong high G. Doubles as Derm, Brenda's Brother & Eddie

NICK (Male presenting, Age range: 40-60) A quiet, reserved British oil engineer who steps out of his comfort zone and unexpectedly falls in love while stranded. Vocal range: Baritone. Doubles as Doug, Officer Stephenson
