Actor to understudy role of Winston Churchill in one-man show, CHURCHILL, playing at New World Stages (Stage #5) in New York City.

Sir Winston Churchill was U.K. prime minister from 1940-45 and again from 1951-55 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th century.

WINSTON CHURCHILL:
Caucasian male, age range 50-70.
Height: under 6 ft.
Bald or receding hairline, white or grey hair preferred.

Acting experience: Proven ability to have performed principal roles in major productions and thus able to shoulder responsibilities of one-person show.

British accent required: Standard RP with nod toward certain Churchillian pronunciation.

Seeking someone who has some physical resemblance to Churchill. Not interested in a direct imitation/impersonation but rather someone who can capture the essence/character of the man and the rhythms of his speech.
